Private medical insurance

Dr Mary Sommerlad, consultant dermatologist at Dermasurge Clinic, works with the following insurance companies:

  • AXA
  • WPA
  • Cigna
  • Vitality

If your insurer is not listed, or you would like to check cover for a different clinician, please contact our team before booking.

Before your appointment

To use your private medical insurance, we recommend that you:

  1. Contact your insurer to confirm that your policy covers a dermatology consultation and any tests or treatment you may need.
  2. Ask whether you need a GP referral and a pre-authorisation number, and have these ready when you book.
  3. Check whether your policy has an excess or any limits on outpatient cover.
  4. Tell our team your insurer, policy number and authorisation number when you book.

Your insurer decides what your policy covers. If any part of your consultation or treatment is not covered, you will be responsible for that cost, so please check with them first.
