Overview
Skin Cancer
Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the world. Divided into two categories, non-melanoma and malignant melanoma, skin cancer can be caused by exposure to sunlight and the damage caused by UV rays. Because of this, people with paler skin are at higher risk of developing skin cancer, as they are more vulnerable to sun damage. Non-melanoma skin cancers are slower to develop, whereas malignant melanoma can be more aggressive.

Symptoms
Signs of Skin Cancer to Look Out For
Recognising early signs of skin cancer is key to timely diagnosis and effective treatment. You should be aware of any new moles or changes in existing ones, including asymmetry, irregular borders, multiple colours, increased size, or bleeding. Other warning signs may include persistent sores that don’t heal, scaly patches, or unusual growths. If you notice anything new or changing, it’s important to have it assessed by a specialist as soon as possible.

Detection
The Importance of Early Detection
Early detection of skin cancer significantly improves treatment outcomes and can often prevent the condition from progressing. Regular skin checks, both at home and with a dermatologist, play a vital role in identifying concerns at an early stage. At Dermasurge, we provide expert skin examinations and guidance, helping you stay proactive about your skin health and ensuring any concerns are addressed quickly and effectively.
Do you have a new or changing mole? Get it reviewed by our consultant dermatologist Dr Hiba Injibar. Read more about our mole check consultation here.

Dr Hiba saved me. I need to see someone urgently about a fast growing/change growth under my eye. Dr Hiba took me in on her break. She did a wonderful job on removing the growth at a sensitive area. Stitches out this morning and it is almost invisible. Professional, soft-spoken – could not recommend her enough!
I had nose Surgery with Dr Hiba Injibar. I couldn’t be happier with the results. From the initial consultation, it was apparent that Dr Hiba Injibar has a lot of experience in the procedure which made me feel very secure. She was very clear about what can be done and was also very attentive to my requests. I would not want anyone else to operate me 🙂 I Recommend 100%.
Couldn’t Be More Happy
